Hard coal mining exhibits moderate-high operating leverage and cash cycle rigidity due to its substantial fixed cost structure, making profitability highly sensitive to market fluctuations. Fixed costs, encompassing depreciation of vast infrastructure, specialized labor salaries, and continuous maintenance, form a dominant portion of the cost base, with some estimates indicating over 60% of total costs are fixed for large-scale operations.
